Movie Series

Through out the year our department hosts a free movie series featuring French, German, Portoguese and Spanish language movies, all with subtitles. The series is free and open to the public, and is an IST approved event. See movies

International Coffee Hour

Students, staff and faculty are invited to come and practice their foreign language skills, or come chat in English about international events and cultures, while enjoying free refreshments.

​Pi Delta Phi French Honors Society

Pi Delta Phi strives to increase the knowledge and appreciation of Americans for the cultural contributions of the French-speaking world, and encourages cultural activities. To aid in this endeavor the society grants annual scholarships and travel opportunities to eligible members.

Delta Phi Alpha German Honors Society

Delta Phi Alpha seeks to recognize excellence in the study of German to provide an incentive for higher scholarship by offering several scholarships to recognize high-achieving Delta Phi Alpha undergraduate students. We promote the study of the German language, literature and civilization and endeavors to emphasize those aspects of German life and culture.

Membership

  • A minimum of two years of college or university German or their equivalent
  • A minimum average of B+ (3.3 GPA) or its equivalent in German courses
  • A minimum cumulative average of B- (2.7 GPA) or its equivalent
  • Indication of continued interest in the study of German language and literature

Chapter faculty advisors submit the application materials for students within their constituent chapters. Each new member receives a custom,embossed membership certificate and a membership pin.

Spanish Language Club

Our club gives students the opportunity to express themselves in Spanish through stories, songs, books and many other forms of art.

Nihon Go! Japanese Language and Culture Club

Nihon Go is a place SUNY Oswego students can learn and share knowledge of Japanese language and culture. The club is friendly, welcoming and full of activities.
