The ECE program offers a combined Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a curriculum that provides a well-rounded competitive engineering education that still allows deeper studies in the five high-demand concentration areas of embedded systems, robotics, biomedical instrumentation, modern energy systems and wireless communication systems.

All requirements for program accreditation by ABET are implemented within the operation and curriculum of the program.

The SUNY Oswego Electrical and Computer Engineering Program adopts the EAC/ABET learning outcomes a-k as its own.

PROGRAM SCOPE

The ECE program is serving a growing student population.  Since its inception in Fall 2013, student enrollment has grown from 22 students to about 130 at the start of Fall 2016.  Most ECE classes have an enrollment cap of 20 ensuring a very reasonable faculty-to-student ratio that encourages one-to-one contact between students and faculty and provides closer attention to student learning, progress, and success.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

 Entering first-year students will be able to declare an ECE major without any requirements beyond general SUNY Oswego admission requirements. To enter SUNY Oswego as a transfer student, a cumulative grade point average of 2.3 is expected if the applicant has completed 30+ hours and 2.5 if fewer credits are transferred.
