Project SMART is a collaboration between SUNY Oswego area schools, business and industry, and SUNY Oswego School of Communications, Media, and the Arts (SCMA). Financial support has been provided by NCLB-TLQP, ENTERGY, the New York Power Authority, Niagara Mohawk, the Central New York Community Council on Careers, and Pathfinder Bank. These and many other regional business partners in Central New York support Project SMART with contributions of time and other in-kind efforts. School districts in Oswego and Onondaga Counties, Albany and Rochester City School Districts, and other schools throughout New York state support the participation of teachers and statewide training is provided in collaboration with other TLQP funded projects.  The SUNY Oswego participants come from the School of Education and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Project SMART provides GESA and data strategies workshops for teachers, higher education faculty and preservice teachers. The purpose of GESA is to impact student achievement through helping teachers examine the impact of biases and behavior on teacher practice and student achievement.
