Entergy

Over the past eleven years of funding by Entergy, the Energy program has achieved many milestones. Educators, under the direction of Sue Witmer, have developed curriculum focusing on math, science, and technology and how they relate to students' future workplace experiences. A series of district based career days, field trips, speakers, activities and professional development opportunities focused on linking MST learning and the workplace, have been implemented. Through focused programs ranging from Elementary through High school, educators have engaged and challenged learners.  Teachers have reported increases in test scores and decreases in absences from classes as well as an over all enthusiastic response from school administration, co-workers, parents, and students. Additionally, a connection was made with pre-service teachers at SUNY Oswego. This level of success has been met due in no small part to the continued dialogue and interaction with Entergy employees.
