School of Education faculty member Carlo Cuccaro’s exceptional ability to teach, connect with students and provide professional expertise have earned a 2023 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching.

Laura Spenceley, dean of SUNY Oswego’s School of Education, was recently named an Impact Academy fellow through national non-profit organization Deans for Impact (DFI).

It was SUNY Oswego graduate student Jared Cucinotta’s own experience with a school psychologist in middle school that inspired him to pursue a career where he can help kids who are struggling like he did. For fellow Oswego student Marcus Lombardo, he knew he enjoyed working with kids, and wanted a career that would allow him to work with kids while using data to improve student outcomes. A new program is helping them both help others.

SUNY Oswego Technology Student Association (OTSA) members added more awards to their trophy case at the recent ITEEA (International Technology and Engineering Educators Association Conference), April 12 to 15 in Minneapolis.

Four SUNY Oswego students have earned the 2023 SUNY Chancellor’s Awards for Student Excellence, the highest such recognition in the state system. These awards recognize outstanding accomplishments inside and outside the classroom for childhood education-English major Kaitlin Flint, zoology major Brooke Goodman, meteorology major Kaitlyn Jesmonth and psychology major Adriana Militello.

A five-year grant of more than $3.5 million to SUNY Oswego from the U.S. Department of Education aims to fill pressing needs in the field of school psychology while helping diversify the profession.

A new master’s in higher education leadership program at SUNY Oswego will build upon the traditional strengths of preparing classroom teachers and leaders by providing opportunities for professionals entering or advancing in this important career field.
