SUNY Oswego technology students continued to shine in conference competitions, adding a half-dozen honors recently at the TEECA (Technology and Engineering Education Collegiate Association) East Conference in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

The State University of New York (SUNY) at Oswego has received a generous gift of $2 million from Frank L. Maraviglia, an alumnus from the Class of 1958. Maraviglia’s gift is in recognition of the exceptional education he earned at the university that helped him lead a fulfilling life as an educator.

In the realm of higher education, leadership plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of academic institutions. One individual who is making a significant impact in this field is Ryan Stiles, a graduate student in the higher education leadership master’s program at SUNY Oswego.

In the ever-evolving landscape of higher education, visionary leaders who can shape the future of academia are key. SUNY Oswego recently welcomed a new addition to its faculty at SUNY Oswego, Peter Ghazarian, who brings a wealth of international experience and a passion for higher education.

The 84th edition of the SUNY Oswego Technology Fall Conference, Oct. 26 and 27, will feature the latest developments in teaching technology and a keynote plenary by Dr. Robert Simmons, Head of Social Impact and STEM Programs for Micron Technology and the Micron Foundation.

The annual Iron Pour coordinated by SUNY Oswego’s Department of Technology and Department of Art and Design will take place outdoors on the north side of Tyler Hall on Friday, Oct. 20, from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

School of Education faculty member Carlo Cuccaro’s exceptional ability to teach, connect with students and provide professional expertise have earned a 2023 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching.

Laura Spenceley, dean of SUNY Oswego’s School of Education, was recently named an Impact Academy fellow through national non-profit organization Deans for Impact (DFI).

It was SUNY Oswego graduate student Jared Cucinotta’s own experience with a school psychologist in middle school that inspired him to pursue a career where he can help kids who are struggling like he did. For fellow Oswego student Marcus Lombardo, he knew he enjoyed working with kids, and wanted a career that would allow him to work with kids while using data to improve student outcomes. A new program is helping them both help others.

SUNY Oswego Technology Student Association (OTSA) members added more awards to their trophy case at the recent ITEEA (International Technology and Engineering Educators Association Conference), April 12 to 15 in Minneapolis.
