Many of SUNY Oswego's 2,100 new students moved onto campus on Aug. 23, 2023. It's always an exciting time for students (and their families) to see their new homes, meet roommates and create friendships that could last a lifetime.
One popular program and two dedicated professionals recently received 2022-2023 SUNY Council of Chief Student Affairs Officers Awards. The Office of Dean of Students received an Outstanding Student Affairs Program award for Open Mic Night, while Residence Life and Housing staff members Renee Landers-Jennings and Carson Nedell earned individual honors.
Mary Craw, an office assistant in Residence Life and Housing, earned the 2022 Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Classified Service, recognizing four decades of service consistently putting students first.
SUNY Oswego’s Global Awareness Conference will go virtual this year for the first time, with a theme of “The Year of First Nations” on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6 and 7.
Move-in days had a different look and schedule for students and families this fall. Staff and student volunteers worked hard to adapt to how COVID-19 impacted new and returning students moving into their SUNY Oswego homes.
