SUNY Chancellor John B. King Jr.'s visit to the SUNY Oswego campus on Wednesday, Feb. 14, included the announcement of nearly $10 million in annual state funding to increase mental health services and support across the SUNY system, including SUNY Oswego, via New York Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature.

Author and Active Minds speaker Stacy Pershall will discuss her experiences and promote mental health awareness in SUNY Oswego’s Sheldon Hall ballroom at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20.

Members of the campus community had the opportunity to learn more about opportunities within the campus and around Oswego County to learn or receive support during the recent Mental Health and Wellness Fair.

Members of the campus community are invited to a series of events on Friday, Sept. 2, when "Relax, Refuel, Return to Nature" unfolds from 1 to 4 p.m at Rice Creek Field Station.

Counseling services to host a suicide awareness exhibit on Apr. 11 and training on Apr. 13 at SUNY Oswego.

SUNY Oswego’s Counseling Services Center is holding events starting today to help students combat stress for International Stress Awareness Week.

The college’s Mental Health and Wellness Fair will return with a variety of participants and offerings from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 1, between Marano Campus Center and Penfield Library.

Three dedicated SUNY Oswego staff members -- for whom a year of adaptation has enhanced their previous years of service -- have earned the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service. The 2021 award winners are Jennifer Broderick, creative director of alumni and development communications; Angie Brown, director of student health services; and Kate Wolfe-Lyga, director of the Counseling Services Center.

The college's second Wellness Day -- Tuesday, March 23 -- will offer a day for campus community members an opportunity to unplug or, if they choose, to take advantage of a variety of programs geared toward mental and physical wellness.

The college’s first-ever Wellness Day -- a break in the compressed spring semester calendar on Wednesday, Feb. 24 -- will offer a day to relax, but also to take advantage of mental and physical wellness activities, ranging from fresh air at Rice Creek to arts and crafts to enjoying yoga and music.
