College to participate in 2019 NSF’s STEM for All Video Showcase

Oswego and three other SUNY campuses (Cortland, Oneonta and Plattsburgh) will be featured in the online 2019 STEM for All Video Showcase, running through May 20 and funded by the National Science Foundation. 

GENIUS Olympiad seeks judges for June event

GENIUS Olympiad organizers are seeking judges for the annual international summer competition hosted by SUNY Oswego in a variety of categories. Judges can learn more and apply via the event website.

Parking passes (for students and employees) available online

With another academic year at SUNY Oswego starting in days, 2019-20 parking permits are still available online by visiting Oswego's parking website, and clicking on the Parking Portal tab. In addition, the Parking Office on Route 104 just east of the college's main entrance will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday (Aug. 24 and 25).

Summer hours for classified service employees to begin May 20

Summer office hours for classified service (CSEA) office employees will be go into effect on Monday, May 20, 2019. The summer hours will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a half-hour lunch break. Summer hours will remain in effect through Friday, Aug. 16, 2019. Employees should resume regular hours as of Monday, Aug. 19, 2019.

Library expands its hours for finals week

May 16 retirement reception to honor Patricia Meleski

The campus community is invited to celebrate the retirement of Patricia Meleski, who has worked at the college since 2005, at a  reception from noon to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 16, in 601 Culkin Hall.

Meleski spent her first three years in the Graduate Office before moving to two different split positions in Philosophy/Interdisciplinary Programs and Activities Center and then Philosophy/Atmospheric and Geological Sciences (Earth Science at the time) offices.

'Recollections' exhibition portrays mementos as sparks for cherished stories

Randy Bowling treasures a ceramic bull, recalling his youthful days riding a Brahman bull named "Jack." His story is one of many highlighted in a traveling SUNY Oswego art exhibition, "Recollections: Storytelling Through Mementos," on display for the next month at Randy's home, Loretto Health and Rehabilitation Center, 700 E. Brighton Ave. in Syracuse.

Summer art, poetry exhibition to focus on shared responsibility for Lake Ontario

SUNY Oswego students -- about 60 of them -- from art, creative writing and music have created works for an Oswego State Downtown exhibition this summer that speaks to everyone's responsibility to steward the vast but threatened asset that is Lake Ontario.
