Feb. 12 Artswego performance to feature ‘mesmerizing’ dance troupe

Tenor Hugo Vera to continue college’s Ke-Nekt series on Feb. 7

Hugo Vera, an in-demand tenor on the Metropolitan Opera roster, will perform a program titled “What About Love?” at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, in SUNY Oswego’s Sheldon Hall ballroom, as part of the college’s Ke-Nekt Chamber Music Series.

Call for Nominations: Hubert B. Smith Diversity Scholarship

The Hubert B. Smith Diversity Scholarship will be awarded to four students for next academic year. Each recipient will receive $1,150. This award honors Hubert B. Smith, retired assistant provost and director of the Office of Learning Support, for his many years of service in the promotion of human diversity and academic excellence at SUNY Oswego.

Comeback story: Injured owl found at Rice Creek recovers, returns home

A great horned owl found injured at SUNY Oswego’s Rice Creek Field Station recently completed her comeback story, released back into her wild home on Jan. 10.

Children's group swim lessons begin Feb. 1

SUNY Oswego’s Campus Recreation will provide American Red Cross children’s swim lessons on six consecutive Saturdays, Feb. 1 to March 7, in the Lee Hall pool on campus.

Taught by certified instructors, the American Red Cross children’s swim lessons will include sessions for students in first through sixth grades, and parent and child classes for 4- and 5-year-olds.
