Campus invited to 33rd annual Welcoming Torchlight Ceremony, Aug. 19

The 33rd Annual Welcoming Torchlight Ceremony will be held on Friday, Aug. 19, at 8:30 p.m. in the Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Hall in Marano Campus Center.

This ceremony is an honored tradition during which faculty, staff and current students pass the flame of the Torch of Learning to more than 1,000 incoming undergraduate and graduate students. The event serves as an official welcome to the newest members of the SUNY Oswego community.

SUNY Washington internship program accepting spring 2023 applications

The SUNY Washington Internship Program, housed through SUNY Brockport, is accepting applications now for spring 2023. The application deadline is Nov. 1, but SUNY Oswego students are encouraged to apply early.

The SUNY Oswego community is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Daniel Griffin, the university’s former director of Admissions, who peacefully passed away this weekend at home with family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Horane Daley from the Bronx and Rickey Strachan from Brooklyn first met at a poetry camp and later learned they were both heading to Oswego. In their time as Lakers, they have each published two books of poetry, developed a solid friendship and contributed to the campus in many ways.
