Lake Effect Cafe reopens with summer hours

Lake Effect Cafe on the first floor of Penfield Library is open again with summer hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  through July 28.

The cafe serves Starbucks coffee, cold drinks, sandwiches, salads and entrees to go, along with a variety of snacks and pastries.

Seeking student Laker Link staff to welcome newcomers

The Department of Student Orientation and Family Engagement is seeking highly motivated returning students to serve as Laker Links to support the execution of Laker Launch, an extended orientation program for new incoming first-year and transfer students in August. 

This is a paid position that also covers room costs (for on-campus students) and meal costs for all those selected for this position.

EAP's Health Salad Bowl Luncheon to return July 26

The SUNY Oswego Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will sponsor a Healthy Salad Bowl Luncheon on Tuesday, July 26, from noon to 1 p.m., in 114 Marano Campus Center. 

There is no fee to attend, and EAP will supply utensils, napkins, salad bowls, lettuces and salad dressings. Each person will be required to bring a salad topping to share (sign up sheet link will be sent when the RSVP is received).

Dear SUNY community,

Today’s (Friday's) significant and far-reaching decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade and with it 50 years of settled law, has already sparked a wide range of reactions and emotions across our nation, our state, and the SUNY system. I recognize that for many, today’s (Friday's) ruling may cause a great deal of pain and confusion.

Retirement Reception on Thursday for Barbara St. Michel

Campus Life will host a retirement reception for Barbara St. Michel from 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 7 in the Chu Atrium in Marano Campus Center.

St. Michel, associate director of Campus Life, earned a Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Professional Service in 2020 for her dedication and variety of skills benefiting the campus.
