Students invited to create videos explaining what they love about their residence halls

Calling all students! Help the college promote all the things you love about your residence hall.  We invite you to create and submit a one-minute video that provides prospective students -- who are currently deciding if they want to enroll at Oswego -- with valuable information about our on-campus living experience and what you (our current students) love about your residence halls. 

All students whose videos are accepted for the final cut will be invited to a special premiere party at the end of the semester. Below are important project guidelines we ask you to follow:

During Quest, the School of Business will hosting the SHNU-SUNY Oswego Student Research Forum, an annual joint research conference hosted by SUNY Oswego and Shanghai Normal University. 

The conference alternates between Shanghai, China and Oswego. It consists of a series of oral presentations featuring business-related topics including finance, marketing, operation research, international business, management and economics. The conference provides awards for the first-, second- and third-place winners.

GOLD webinar to offer 'Top Tips for Teachers'

Close-knit community: Library to launch regular crafty meetups

Penfield Library's makerspace is launching a brand new knitting/crochet group meetup. Those looking to work on their projects while hanging out and chatting with other knitters and crocheters are invited to drop by the library makerspace on Tuesdays from noon to 1 p.m. and/or Thursdays from 7 to 8 p.m. 

It's On Us day to take stand against sexual violence

Members of the campus community are invited to take the pledge against sexual violence for It's On Us day -- Tuesday, April 2 -- and get a free T-shirt. 

The local It's On Oz team will have a table for It's On Us day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., or until shirts run out, on Tuesday. Those who have shirts from taking the pledge are encouraged to wear them as well.

RSVPs for Display to Archives luncheon due today

The Display to Archives program is Penfield Library’s ongoing effort to collect, recognize, exhibit and promote access to the creative and scholarly work of SUNY Oswego’s faculty and professional staff. A luncheon celebrating the program has an RSVP deadline of today (March 28).

'Discover Wellness' to offer faculty, staff resistance training for beginners

Faculty and staff are invited to learn resistance training for beginners through free upcoming "Discover Wellness" workshops.

Next week will feature a pair of sessions -- 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, and 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 5 -- in the Wilber Wellness Lab in the building's basement level. The first 15 to register will receive a wellness incentive gift.

Applications extended for 2019 Student Involvement Awards

The Student Involvement Awards recognize and reward those students and their student organizations whose involvement has made SUNY Oswego and the surrounding community a better place to live and learn.

Their hard work can be seen through educational programs, community service projects, athletic events, guest speakers and a variety of other ways. Under the extended deadline, students have until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 29, to complete all applications.

Spring 2019 Writing Fellows workshop series begins this week

The Writing Fellows workshop series will begin this week and run through the end of the spring semester. The Writing Fellows Program will offer five sessions to support faculty who use writing in the courses they teach, with a goal of building the wider culture of writing on campus.
