Symposium to explore ‘Sportsmanship During a Pandemic’, other topics

SUNY Oswego’s 13th annual Sportsmanship Day Symposium invites submissions from members of the campus community for its first-ever virtual edition on Thursday, March 4.

Students, faculty and staff are welcome to present at this symposium by contacting the campus event’s founder and coordinator, sociology professor Tim Delaney, via email at Tim.Delaney@oswego.edu. The program will begin at 2:30 p.m. on March 4.

Campus invited to participate in new Oswego Alumni Book Club

SUNY Oswego community members are invited to join the Oswego Alumni Book Club. Register online by March 17 to participate in the first reading period:

City of Oswego overnight parking ban in effect

February 8, 2021

Oswego Mayor Billy Barlow has put the annual overnight, on-street winter parking ban in effect, banning parking on city streets from midnight to 6 a.m. in residential neighborhoods, and 2 to 6 a.m. in the east and west downtown areas. 

Off-campus students who would rely on on-street parking should contact their landlords about alternate arrangements.

In addition, the city makes free overnight parking available in the following lots that are cleared of snow: 

Imagine 2021 to host alumni networking events Feb. 10

The college's Imagine 2021 career development series offers a series of Imagine Incredible Career Connections events on Wednesday, Feb. 10, to help students virtually connect and network with successful alumni.

Virtual instructional support hours have returned

The Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching, Campus Technology Services and Extended Learning will again offer online virtual support hours for academic instructors this semester.

These will be available from 1 to 2 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays, starting this week, until at least mid-March.

Are you interested in becoming a student tour guide for the college's Admissions Office?

After a short program, you can become tour certified and get paid for giving campus tours, and helping prospective students and their families learn about the Oswego experience. All are welcome in the Office of Admissions.

College recruiting Quarantine and Isolation Buddies

Dear SUNY Oswego Faculty and Staff, 

SUNY Oswego is embarking upon a new initiative for the spring 2021 semester. It is a program called Quarantine and Isolation Buddies, and we need your help.

The goal of the program is to facilitate caring interactions with students who are isolated from everyone due to the virus.
