Additional Navigation

SUNY Oswego’s Digital Learning Environment Team is excited to announce the launch of the Media Library, a new centralized hub designed to help you manage and reuse your digital course assets more efficiently.

Instead of searching through individual course folders, the Media Library provides a single location to upload, organize, and deploy your materials across multiple sections.

Please note: This space is intended for materials meant for long-term reuse. To ensure optimal performance, Lecture Capture videos must not be stored in the Media Library.

Key features

  • Organized structure: Create custom folders to categorize your assets by subject, semester, or content type.
  • Collaboration: Share folders with colleagues to support departmental collaboration and consistent course delivery.
  • Version control: Easily update existing assets with new versions without "breaking" links in your active courses.

Supported file types

The Media Library is designed to house a wide variety of instructional materials, including:

  • Multimedia: Instructional audio and video files only
  • Visuals: Images and graphics
  • Resources: Documents (PDFs, Word docs, etc.)
  • Interactive Content: SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) packages

How to get started

You can access the Media Library directly from the gear icon starting today. The SUNY Oswego team believes this tool will significantly reduce the time spent managing files and allow for more seamless content sharing across the faculty. The knowledge base article, Course Management: Using the Media Library, provides detailed information concerning this new tool.

If you have any questions, please contact the Campus Technology Services (CTS) Help Desk.
