D2L Brightspace is rolling out significant enhancements to its assessment tools: a New Quiz Evaluation Experience and an improved Quick Eval function. These updates take place on Friday, June 6 and aim to make grading more efficient, consistent, and user-friendly.

The new quiz evaluation experience: A unified approach to grading

The quiz evaluation interface has been redesigned to unify with existing Assignments and Discussions evaluation tools, creating a more cohesive grading workflow.

  • Streamlined two-column layout.
  • Intuitive navigation between quiz attempts and learners.
  • Advanced filtering for pending or retaken questions.
  • Comprehensive feedback options, including rubrics for written responses.
  • Automated grading with manual override for objective questions.
  • Faster access to Quiz Reports and the Event Log.

Benefits:

  • Increases instructor productivity.
  • Enhances consistency across assessment types.
  • Provides clearer learner feedback directly in Grades.

Rollout information:

It will be an opt-in feature until July 2025, when it will become the default and sole quiz evaluation option.

Quick eval function: Centralizing your grading tasks

The Quick Eval tool centralizes all student activities awaiting evaluation across all your courses.

  • Centralized overview of assignments, quizzes, and discussions.
  • Flexible "Submissions View" or "Activities View."
  • Dynamic sorting and filtering by submission, student, activity, or course.
  • Progress tracking and feedback publishing status.
  • Bulk publishing for Assignments/Discussions (not Quizzes).
  • Seamless navigation to the next evaluation item.
