Scheduled Downtime to Upgrade Services

On July 3, 2021 SUNY Oswego will be upgrading the main computer system for Student Information Services. The upgrade is scheduled from 7:00am - 1:00pm.
Google's Transition Timeline for Classic Google Sites

Print Quota Changes for Students Starting Summer 2021

As part of the SUNY Oswego print initiative to reduce campus printing, student print quotas have been reduced from 400 to 200 sheets ($30 print dollars) per semester, effective May 24.
SUNY Initiative Targets Reduced Printing on Campus

A recent assessment of SUNY’s print landscape (print devices, print volume and type, and existing campus managed print contracts) revealed that SUNY prints more than 50 million pages a month, and possesses more than 40,000 devices, of which approximately 50% are personal or desktop printers. The analysis, conducted by an independent print consultant (Pharos), also determined that SUNY spends approximately $50M per year on printing with color printing accounting for more than 50% of the cost.
Google Maps No Longer Available with Oswego Google Accounts

Per a new policy, Google is no longer offering its Map application on Education accounts for no charge. This change means you will no longer be able to use Google Maps while your Oswego account is logged into your browser as the primary account.
Preparing Employee Computers for Compatibility with the Apple Big Sur Operating System

Since the release of the Big Sur (version 11) operating system, Campus Technology Services (CTS) has been assessing its compatibility with campus services. In some cases, vendors have had to release new versions of their software to address incompatibility with Big Sur. This includes the Cylance antivirus software installed on Macintosh-based employee computers.
Campus Server Hosting Personal Websites to be Decommissioned June 1

Campus Technology Services (CTS) will be decommissioning the “Rocky” server on June 1 at 7 a.m. Its primary service of hosting personal websites has seen less usage as more modern, alternative technologies have become available.
Campus network maintenance scheduled April 17 and April 24
April 16, 2021
Campus Technology Services (CTS) will perform maintenance on the campus network on two different dates. During this time, some technology services will be unavailable for everyone on and off-campus.

Zoom Recordings from Spring and Summer 2020 to be Removed

In an effort to free up space in the Zoom cloud, CTS will be deleting Zoom recordings from the Spring and Summer sessions.
