Oswego physics professor Carolina Ilie was one of 15 scholars selected as Sigma Xi Fellows, a prestigious honor for continued contribution to the international honor society and the field of scientific research.

From studying the scale of the universe to inspiring students across the globe, SUNY Oswego physics professor Shashi Kanbur’s far-reaching efforts earned the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities.

SUNY Oswego will host a free public Mars Viewing Party, planned nightly though weather-dependent, from 11 p.m. [UPDATED START TIME] to 2 a.m. July 24 to 31 at the college's observatory at Rice Creek Field Station

SUNY Oswego will serve as the U.S. lead for a funded astrophysics project probing the age and size of the universe, working with Yale University and two top Indian institutions -- the University of Delhi and the Inter University Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics in Pune.
