Native American studies program to host filmmaker for screenings, Q&A

SUNY Oswego’s Native American studies program will host up-and-coming Seneca filmmaker Caleb Abrams for screenings and a Q&A from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, in the Marano Campus Center auditorium (room 132).

Alumna to perform spoken word 'Redress to the Red Dresses'

A spoken word performance featuring the poems and short stories of Indigenous/Chicana artist and 2022 SUNY Oswego graduate Chelsea Maldonado called “Redress to the Red Dresses” will raise awareness of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (#MMIW) cause. The free event will take place at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 28, in Tyler Hall's Waterman Theatre.

‘Sweet’ sap-collecting partnership to result in maple syrup

SUNY Oswego’s Sustainability Office and Auxiliary Services partnered with a Native American studies class taught by Michael Chaness in this year’s maple tapping event that will result in maple syrup for the campus and community.
