The renovations of iconic Hewitt Hall, with an expected completion date of August 2025, will bring to life the values of SUNY Oswego’s School of Communication, Media and the Arts: innovation, inspiration and interdisciplinary collaboration. This $80 million project converts the historic former student union into a state-of-the-art media and visual arts center, creating an “arts corridor” between Tyler and Hewitt halls.

SUNY Oswego was recognized among the top achievers by the Broadcast Education Association (BEA)’s 2024 Recognition of Institutional Excellence in Media.

Always among the biggest events locally, the Oswego and Plattsburgh men’s college hockey rivalry games scored big on a larger stage, as coverage by SUNY Oswego’s student-run WTOP-10 TV station earned two national awards recently.

Even as multiple Laker teams made the NCAA tournament this year, the teamwork of SUNY Oswego’s student media organizations may have reached all-star levels as well.
