With a 4-0-1 record in its first five games and winning the Southern Vermont College Invitational over the weekend, the men's soccer team is off to a historic start.
The undefeated Lakers, outscoring opponents 27-6 on the year, are off to the program's best start since the 1958 team started 5-0.
The latest victories came in succession as the team captured the tournament crown in the Green Moutain State. The Lakers rolled up a 6-1 victory over the University of Maine at Farmington on Saturday afternoon before topping Canton 7-1 on Sunday for the title.
The next game for men's soccer is a home 4 p.m. tilt vs. St. Lawrence on Friday at Laker Turf Stadium.
