SUNY Oswego continues to rank high among public online offerings in New York state, including #1 for best online bachelor’s in business programs and #2 for its online master of business administration (MBA), according to U.S. News and World Report 2026 Online Programs Rankings released on Jan. 27.
Oswego’s online master’s in education program ranked fifth overall among public schools in New York state, while its overall online bachelor’s programs were seventh in the state among public schools.
The university noted that these rankings underscore Oswego’s academic quality, value and dedication to online learning.
SUNY Oswego’s commitment to serving online and non-traditional learners has received additional recognition recently, including its integrated professional studies program earning the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education (AAACE) Malcolm S. Knowles Award for outstanding achievement in adult education.
Overall rankings were as follows:
- Best Online Bachelor's in Business: #1 New York state public school; #2 in New York state; #70 overall
- Best Online MBA: #2 New York state public school, #8 in New York state; #119 overall
- Overall Best Online Bachelor's Programs: #7 New York state public; #9 in New York state; #135 overall
- Overall Best Online Master's in Education Programs: #5 New York state public school; #13 in New York state; #176 overall
In its 14th year, the U.S. News Best Online Programs is designed for individuals looking to complete or further their education. This year's edition evaluates more than 1,800 online bachelor's and master's degree programs using metrics specific to online learning. The rankings include only degree-granting programs offered primarily online by regionally accredited institutions.
