SUNY Oswego launched campaigns for free app weeks and new “Free Tuition Plus” scholarships in a strategic move to attract the best and brightest students to SUNY Oswego – recently ranked in the top 10 among public colleges in U.S. News and World Report’s 2022 Top Regional Universities in the North. Apply for Free! SUNY Oswego will cover the cost of student application fees between Nov. 8 and 28. Interested students are directed to apply to SUNY Oswego via the Common App, and check “yes” to the following question: “Would you like to use an application fee waiver?”
Explore tuition-free: Each year, SUNY Oswego awards more than $80 million in student aid. Once SUNY Oswego receives a student’s application and Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), students will be automatically evaluated for scholarships (no extra app needed!). New York residents may be eligible for the free tuition Excelsior Scholarship and will also be considered for generous Oswego scholarships up to $22,600.
Introducing “Free Tuition Plus” scholarships: SUNY Oswego’s “Free Tuition Plus” scholarships are an invitation for qualifying students to consider a tuition-free future via New York State’s Excelsior Scholarship program plus the added support of Oswego first-year merit awards for high-achieving first-year students with no additional scholarship application necessary. Oswego has raised its presidential-level awards to $5,650 for students entering in fall 2022. This could cover a full-meal plan or other costs at Oswego, so students can think more about their studies, and less about their budget.
