Adjunct professor Diane Oldenburg of the Health Promotion and Wellness Department was recently honored with the Hermann M. Biggs Memorial Medal and Certificate, a prestigious lifetime achievement award presented by the New York State Public Health Association.

This award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and made significant, lasting contributions to public health across New York state.

Throughout her career with the Oswego County Health Department, Oldenburg has shown an unwavering commitment to improving community health, advancing public health initiatives and supporting populations through education, outreach and service, organizers said. The award reflects a deep dedication to the core values of public health, including prevention, equity and community engagement.

"This recognition reflects a testament to the meaningful impact Diane has had on the field and the countless individuals and communities she has served," said Jessica Harris of SUNY Oswego's health, promotion and wellness faculty. "Her accomplishments not only highlight her distinguished career but also serve as an inspiration to students, colleagues, and future public health professionals."
