Alexis Pinero-Benson, the college's director of student conduct, recently received a prestigious national honor, the Individual Award of Excellence from the Association for Student Conduct Administration (ASCA).
Pinero-Benson becomes the 11th recipient in the history of this peer-nominated award to recognize a professional who has made significant contributions to the development of their campus and community, service to the profession and commitment to education and mentoring. ASCA’s national board of directors chooses the winner.
“It is an incredible honor to receive such an award,” said Pinero-Benson, who reflected on his belief in fostering supportive forums for behavioral intervention, enhanced reflection and personal growth. “When student conduct programs purposefully cultivate an environment where these pillars flourish, we demonstrate care for the whole person, increase longitudinal success and accelerate persistence towards program/degree completion.”
