SEFA collecting items to support schoolkids via Stuff A Bus

The college's State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) campaign announced sponsorship of the annual Stuff-A-Bus campaign, which provides school supplies to children in need in Oswego County's nine school districts. Collection boxes around campus (see below) will receive drop offs. The collection has begun and will run from through Friday, Aug. 20.

Upcoming changes to Google Drive file links, Backup and Sync

Google has announced two changes that will impact the web addresses used to share some Drive files, and its Backup and Sync service.

Security update for some Google Drive links, to be completed by Sept. 13

Google is applying a security update to some Google Drive file links to make sharing links more secure.  The web address used to share a document will change to include a resource key. Note that Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms files are not impacted by this change.

Parking Office adjusting hours; permits available in advance of fall

The Parking Office, located on Route 104 just east of the college entrance, recently adjusted its hours. The office is open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a lunchtime closing from noon to 12:30 p.m.

Parking passes are still available via the Parking Portal website, which you can pick up during the above hours or request to have it mailed. If you choose to have it mailed, please be sure the address is correct and allow 7 to 10 business days for mailing.

People Search change to enhance information security

To better protect students, faculty, and staff and improve the information security of the campus community, People Search will only be available to users with a valid LakerNet ID. Currently, People Search is publicly available and is therefore susceptible to common tactics used by bad actors/hackers like screen scraping where a program/bot collects all contact information listed.

Flexible Spending Dependent Care Advantage Account extended for 2020

The grace period for the 2020 Flexible Spending Dependent Care Advantage Account plan year has been extended. Employees can now submit claims for expenses incurred between Jan. 1, 2020, and Sept. 15, 2021, for reimbursement from their 2020 Dependent Care Advantage Account (DCAA).

Proof of vaccine

Mandatory weekly surveillance testing will continue to be required for any person who has a physical presence on campus and who has not been fully vaccinated, or who has not shown proof of vaccination. Fully vaccinated employees are exempt from mandatory weekly testing upon the submission of documentation that shows completion of a full vaccination series. (You are fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving the second dose or two weeks after receiving a single dose vaccine.)

HR update: Contract letters will arrive via Hirezon/Interview Exchange

Human Resources is pleased to announce that effective immediately all contract letters will be sent to employees electronically through Hirezon/Interview Exchange.

The employee will be able to review their contract letter, electronically sign and submit to the Office of Human Resources. All individuals who have been cc’d on contract letters through email in the past will still have access to the contract letters through the guest feature section in Hirezon/Interview Exchange for your records.
