Violinist Ahreum Kim, new last fall as a member of the SUNY Oswego music faculty, will make her campus concert debut in collaboration with colleague and pianist Robert Auler at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, in Sheldon Hall ballroom as part of the music department’s Focus on Faculty series.

Kim, who specializes in high strings and musicology, and Focus on Faculty series coordinator Auler will offer a program of diverse styles, from classical to romantic to new music, as well as ensembles, including Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 1,” Edvard Grieg’s “Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 3”; and Vittorio Monti’s “Czardas,” based on Hungarian dances.

A highlight of the program will be “The Wife of Bath’s Tale,” composed by music faculty member Paul Leary, with the instrumental duo accompanied by two vocalists.

Tickets are $8 ($5 for SUNY Oswego students) and are available at all SUNY Oswego box offices, online at tickets.oswego.edu and by calling 315-312-2141.

Parking is included in the price of the ticket, and is available in the employee and commuter lots adjacent to and across Washington Boulevard from Sheldon Hall. Patrons needing assistance should call 315-312-2141 in advance of the concert.
