The College Bookstore has begun its end-of-semester textbook buyback and invites students to stop by Penfield Library's Room C14 in the basement to sell back their books.
Hours for buyback are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 8, and next week, May 11 to 15.
What to bring and know:
- A physical ID
- Any books you would like to sell
- You do not need to purchase them from the College Bookstore
- Condition affects the price
- Loose-leaf books are accepted
How pricing works:
The bookstore partners with a professional book wholesaler for buyback:
- If they buy the book for upcoming courses, they typically offer around 50 percent of the new price
- If they are not buying the book, the price offered will be the wholesaler’s current market price
- What they buy depends on course usage and demand for the upcoming semester
The process:
Store representatives scan each book
They tell you the price being offered
You decide whether you want to sell the book or keep it
