Penfield Library seeks participants for a spicy literature event, "Hot Pepper Shakespeare" from 2:30 to 4 p.m. on April 23 in the library's room 215.
The event is geared toward those who have ever wanted to test their spice mettle, read a Shakespeare monologue and have loads of fun, organizers said.
The challenge is simple. Participants will eat a hot pepper, and then read a Shakespeare monologue or sonnet. A variety of peppers at different spice levels will be provided, as well as refreshments to cool the burn afterwards (for participants only). No prior experience is required; the only requirement is to have fun.
Use this signup form to learn more and take the challenge.
If hot peppers aren’t your thing, all are welcome to come and cheer participants on.
