"Voices of Justice: Theatre of the Oppressed Youth Showcase," from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hewitt Hall Ballroom, will feature the Justice Organization of Youth (JOY) from the Rural and Migrant Ministry.

Founded in 2016, JOY amplifies the voices of young people — primarily from farmworking families in the Lake Ontario and Finger Lakes regions — through performance and advocacy.

Using Theatre of the Oppressed, JOY presents original, interactive performances that explore real issues impacting their lives and communities. Their work encourages audiences to reflect on systems of power, inequality, and lived experiences, while inspiring dialogue and social change. Through theater, spoken word and music, JOY has contributed to real community impact and local decision-making.

Faculty, staff, and administrators are strongly encouraged to attend, organizers said. Donations are welcome (but not required), as all are welcome regardless of ability to give.

Organizers noted that this is a meaningful opportunity to engage with youth voices, learn from lived experiences and support advocacy through the arts.
