The campus community is invited to mark their calendars and start making plans for Reunion Weekend 2026, June 4 to 7, in Oswego.

“Reunion regulars” might notice a few changes to the schedule this year. Based on feedback from alumni, the Reunion Engagement and Philanthropy Committee has shifted the timing of some annual favorites, especially for the Golden Alumni Class of 1976.

Festivities will kick off Thursday with a special on-campus dinner for the members of the Class of 1976, where classmates can reconnect and reminisce with each other about life at Oswego 50 years ago as well as all that has happened since then.

This year, Friday features a new lineup of activities with the Class of 1976 Remembrance Ceremony, followed by the Golden Alumni Society Luncheon and Induction Ceremony for all classes before and including 1976. During the luncheon, each member of the Class of 1976 will be announced and presented with a pin as they officially join the Golden Alumni Society.

Also on Friday, alumni are invited to an archives presentation in Penfield Library, a veterans’ recognition event and open houses of several campus facilities, including the newly renovated Hewitt Hall. The Welcome Back BBQ and bonfire at Fallbrook – typically the largest all-alumni event throughout the weekend – will close out the evening.

Saturday brings a packed day of signature Reunion traditions, including milestone class celebrations, affinity gatherings, Rice Creek tours, the Alumni Awards presentation and university update, and the always-popular “We Are Family” all-alumni social at the Dockside Bar and Grill along the Oswego River.

New features

New this year, Greeks and affinity groups celebrating mini-reunions and milestones will be invited to gather for group photos on the steps of Sheldon Hall Saturday late-morning. A professional photographer will be available to take group photos that can be shared with members and added to the university archives. For a list of groups celebrating milestones, visit the Reunion website.

“Every year, we ask for feedback from Reunion attendees, and try to make changes based on those suggestions,” said Alumni Engagement Director Michael Paestella. “Some Reunion regulars might notice that we aren’t hosting the Saturday picnic. Instead, alumni will be invited to eat at the on-campus dining options, try out a new restaurant downtown or attend their affinity’s events – many of which are held on Saturday afternoon.”

The weekend will conclude Sunday with a Bon Voyage Breakfast.

Reunion 2026 registration will open in early April, with additional details shared on the Reunion webpage. On-campus housing in Waterbury and Scales halls will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Whether you’re celebrating a milestone year or simply looking to reconnect, Reunion Weekend is a time for the many members of the Laker family to come home. For more details, visit the Reunion website.
