A winter festival, Laker athletics, ice skating, a weekday youth program, nature events, a theatre presentation, open recreation and more welcome members of the community to SUNY Oswego from Feb. 13 to 22 during local school districts’ breaks.

Highlights include:

  • The Celebrate Snow winter festival at Rice Creek Field Station, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14 (with a severe weather backup date of Feb. 15)
  • Winter Youth Programs, focusing on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) for kids in kindergarten to fifth grade from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 16 to 20 (visit oswego.edu/extended-learning/youth-programs for more info and registration)
  • Home dates for several Laker athletics teams: men’s (Feb. 20 and 21) and women’s (Feb. 13, 14, 20 and 21) hockey, men’s and women’s basketball (both on Feb. 13, 14, 20 and 21), and wrestling (Feb. 14)
  • Open skating from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15, 16, 17, 19 and 22 in Marano Campus Center’s Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Hall
  • Open recreation in Lee Hall Gymnasium from noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 14 to 20
  • Manual Cinema’s multimedia production of “The 4th Witch,” inspired by William Shakespeare’s “MacBeth” at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18 in Tyler Hall’s Waterman Theatre; tickets required via tickets.oswego.edu
  • Penfield Library will host Community Days from Feb. 14 to 22 (hours vary by day)
  • Two additional Rice Creek events on Saturday, Feb. 21: “Birdwatching for Science” from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. and a guided nature walk at 11 a.m.

Since classes are still on at SUNY Oswego during that span, there is a $3 charge per day for parking on the campus during the week until 4 p.m. The Parking Services Office, located at 7044 Route 104, is open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; phone number is 315-312-3227. No parking passes are needed for regular parking spaces after 4 p.m. on weekdays or anytime on the weekend. Parking lots closest to programs during the day are C-32 near Culkin Hall, and E-23 near Rich and Lee Halls.
