The SUNY Sustainability Faculty Fellows program, which supports faculty across a wide range of disciplines in incorporating sustainability into curricula and coursework, will offer a series of professional development workshops beginning on Feb. 6.

Fellows' support includes assisting other faculty in incorporating climate and sustainability topics into existing courses or developing and embedding new applied learning opportunities, including those designed to meet the sustainable learning outcome in the World History and Global Awareness knowledge and skills area of the SUNY General Education Framework.

Please note that the Sustainability Faculty Fellows are providing a service for all campuses, and anyone can sign up for a consultation via this Office Hours Request Form.

The Sustainability Fellows are offering a webinar series titled “SUNY Sustainability Faculty Series: From Foundation to Practice” to support SUNY faculty in integrating sustainability across General Education. Each session features interactive activities, disciplinary applications from across General Education and practical implementation tools. Whether you are new to sustainability education or looking to deepen your practice, you can leave with ready-to-use resources, a growing community of practice and confidence to make sustainability relevant in your courses.

All workshops are virtual and begin at 11 a.m. Dates and topics include:

  • Feb. 6: “Sustainability Across Disciplines: Introduction to General Education Integration”
  • March 6: “Sustainability in the Arts, Humanities, History and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Social Justice (DEISJ)”
  • April 2: “Sustainability in the Natural Sciences and Mathematics”
  • April 24: “Sustainability in Action: Approaches to Applied Learning”
