The library’s 24-Hour Room, including the 24-Hour Computer Lab, will remain open as usual for currently registered students with valid ID card access.
Additionally, the City of Oswego has issued a “no unnecessary travel” advisory within city limits, effective 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, through 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26. Limiting travel will help the Department of Public Works keep roads clear and safe.
As previously announced, SUNY Oswego has shifted to remote learning for Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 26 and 27, out of an abundance of caution.
Stay warm and safe, Lakers!
Original Announcement: January 23, 2026 at 4:30 p.m.
Due to anticipated adverse weather conditions, SUNY Oswego has announced that all classes at both the Oswego and Syracuse campuses will be taught remotely on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 26 and 27.
All face-to-face and hybrid classes will shift to remote instruction as directed by your faculty member. Online courses will proceed as scheduled.
Residential students have previously been notified they can return on Saturday, and food services and all other services will be functional. Campus will remain open and essential staff will be present.
As inclement weather continues to affect our region, we remain committed to ensuring the continued operation of essential campus services while prioritizing the safety and well-being of our community. While instructional modalities have shifted, we recognize the importance of maintaining critical functions.
As Governor Kathy Hochul has declared a state of emergency for New York, staff members are encouraged to consult with their supervisors to assess departmental needs and determine whether responsibilities can be fulfilled remotely. Supervisors should carefully consider both operational requirements and potential travel risks when making these decisions. If you are unable to report to work or work remotely, you may need to utilize your leave accruals.
Any currently scheduled appointments at Health Services will be switched to telehealth. Please call 315-312-4100 with any questions or to reschedule.
Your safety is our highest priority. If you must travel, please exercise caution and allow extra time for your commute. We appreciate your flexibility and commitment during this time.
