"Strength in Solidarity" is an interactive panel presentation from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, led by members of the Rural and Migrant Ministry (RMM) and the Workers’ Center of Central New York. The discussion in 175 Shineman Center focuses on the federal ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) raid that occurred in nearby Cato, examining its deep and lasting effects on individuals, families and the broader community.
Through personal narratives and lived experiences, panelists will help students gain insight into local immigration enforcement and the collective efforts to advance justice, dignity and hope for all community members.
Designed to be interactive and student-centered, the event will invite dialogue and reflection. Following the panel, students will have the opportunity to ask questions, share perspectives, and explore the social and ethical implications of these real-world events.
The event is sponsored by the departments of Health Promotion and Wellness, History, Sociology and Communication Studies, as well as the Global and International Studies program.
