SUNY Oswego students should have received emails inviting participation in SUNY’s Basic Needs Survey. Since many SUNY students experience difficulty in meeting all of their basic needs, such as having enough food, stable housing, available transportation or sufficient childcare, this survey helps administrators understand those gaps, how they occur and how to best help all students meet their needs.
Student input about their experiences will allow the university and SUNY to identify ways to support all students and make the campus community a better place to study and learn.
The survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete. Participation is voluntary. Answers will be kept confidential and only be reported in aggregate at a group level, never at an individual level. Some of the questions in this survey are personal, and some people may find it uncomfortable. Students may choose to skip questions or stop responding at any point.
At the end of the survey, participants will have the opportunity to request individualized support by providing your name and contact information.
There will also be the opportunity to opt-in to a drawing for one of 80 $50 Amazon gift cards. There will be no link between the Basic Needs Survey response and the gift card opt-in response.
If you have any questions or concerns about the survey, you can contact SUNY System Administration Office of Institutional Research and Data Analytics at ir@suny.edu.
