SUNY Oswego students are creating the largest student-run real estate conference in Central New York -- one that is free to attend for students -- on Thursday, Nov. 13, in the Destiny USA mall in Syracuse.
This is the second conference that Real Estate Club members are coordinating, and students aim to continue increasing its success. In hoping to scale this conference, they and chose the largest mall in the state, Destiny USA, with excitement about creating such a huge undertaking and being visible to the mall visitors. Spectrum News has noted that 45,000 to 50,000 people walk through the mall on any given day.
The main focus of the event is to create a bridge between students and community/organizations. To achieve this, the Real Estate Club members are determined to make this conference a dynamic and valuable experience for the attendees. The attendees will be able to enjoy networking sessions, breakout sessions, trade shows, band performances, keynote speakers and save passports to select stores -- offering attendees exclusive discounts to shops in the mall. It even includes a featured band, Oswego-based duo Whiskey Spirits.
Tickets are required, although free for students, and $99 for the public. For members of the SUNY Oswego family, the Real Estate Club also offers a 15 percent discount by using the promo code "15DISC", and registering through this link.
The Real Estate Club was created five years ago and has since created the first Real Estate Conference and contributed to the creation of the real estate minor at SUNY Oswego. They are not slowing down this year as they hope to gather 500+ attendees, 80+ different organizations and 20+ experts as speakers, including representatives of:
- Micron Technology, Inc.
 - Equitable Holdings, Inc.
 - CenterState Corporation for Economic Opportunity (CenterState CEO)
 - VIP Structures, Inc.
 - Pathfinder Bank
 - HUNT Real Estate Corporation
 - CRM Rental Management, Inc.
