SUNY Oswego will open a renovated Wilber Hall in stages this fall, completing by year's end the centralization of all School of Education departments under one, contiguous roof for the first time in about 50 years.

SUNY Oswego's "I Am Oz" Diversity Speaker Series will open this fall with an appearance by LaToya Ruby Frazier, a photographer and environmental activist who uses her art as a catalyst for social justice.

SUNY Oswego's Counseling Services Center will team with the college's Employee Assistance Program on Sept. 12 to shine a light on the array of services and organizations available for everyone on campus, especially those that need help coping with friends, family, relationship issues, academic or job pressures.

SUNY Oswego's third biennial outdoor sculpture exhibition will feature six works, ranging from a 10-foot-tall geometric piece with a wind-driven pinwheel to an assemblage of megaphone-like cones that encourage dialog to make the sculpture garden a sound garden.

Award-winning poet Rebecca Dunham -- author of "Cold Pastoral: Poems," a collection that elegizes manmade disasters from the Deepwater Horizon oil platform to the Flint, Michigan, water crisis -- will join this fall's SUNY Oswego Living Writers Series, a roster that includes a playwright, nonfiction writer, novelist, short story writer and other published authors.

The Princeton Review once again has named SUNY Oswego to its list of the 225 Best Regional Colleges-Northeast, a distinction the college has earned every year since the educational services firm started regional listings in 2003.

An East Amherst man moving to Florida full time has donated to SUNY Oswego the college's third painting by famed marine painter James Gale Tyler, namesake of Tyler Hall and the Tyler Art Gallery on the main campus.

A SUNY Oswego panel has recommended college mini-grant funding for five project proposals -- ranging from a multicultural effort to provide water purifiers to Puerto Rico to helping support a talk by an eco-poet known for her poetry about the disasters such as those at Flint, Michigan, and the Deepwater Horizon -- developed for Grand Challenges: Fresh Water for All.

SUNY Oswego will host a free public Mars Viewing Party, planned nightly though weather-dependent, from 11 p.m. [UPDATED START TIME] to 2 a.m. July 24 to 31 at the college's observatory at Rice Creek Field Station

As SUNY Oswego's third biennial exhibition of outdoor sculptures prepares to move in to the academic quad this summer, the sculptures of 2016-18 prepare to move back to their creators -- except one, a contemporary and symbolic birdhouse that has moved to a concrete pad just north of Tyler Hall.
