October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and on Friday, Oct. 25, SUNY Oswego employees can wear pink to raise funds for the fight against breast cancer.

This will be the college's 20th year participating in this event. Participating merely involves wearing pink with one's favorite jeans (with supervisor's permission) on Oct. 25 and making a $5 donation to benefit the Oswego County Opportunities Cancer Services Program.

A Wear Pink Day group photo will take place in the Marano Campus food and activity court at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, followed by a brief group walk. Donations may be made to State Employees Federated Appeal building representatives or at the event itself. Auxiliary Services will run a special that day in the food court for a free pink frosted cookie or brownie with every purchase made by someone wearing pink or a pink ribbon.

Organizers also will sell tickets at the photo session to win a pink hockey jersey. Tickets will cost $5 each or three for $12. The winner can customize the jersey by choosing a name and number for the back.
