This year (throughout the spring and fall 2019 semesters), Assistant Professor of Communication Studies Francisco Suárez will lead the production of SUNY Oswego's very first holiday TV special -- an ambitious interdisciplinary collaboration involving students, faculty from the School of Communication, Media and the Arts, and staff from all across our campus. 

According to Suárez, "We are looking for students who have the creativity, knowledge and enthusiasm to work on this fantastic project -- a 45-minute variety show in the style of classic shows such as The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour, The Carol Burnett Show, Johnny Carson and Saturday Night Live, but with the flavor of the holiday season and the perspective of our own SUNY Oswego students.

Positions that will need to be filled for the show include:
  • Lead video producers
  • Fill producers
  • Video camera operators
  • Video editors
  • Artistic directors
  • Sound engineers
  • Script writers, comedy writers, news writers
  • Social media coordinators
  • Website developers
  • Graphic designers
  • Singers
  • Musicians, holiday band musicians
  • Actors, actresses
  • Show host
  • Set designers
  • Costume designers
  • Makeup artists
  • ... and more
Anybody interested in participating or learning more is encouraged to come out to the introductory meeting, to be held this coming Tuesday, Feb. 26, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Marano Campus Center, classroom 211 (second floor). Suárez will present the entire project, discuss logistics and answer questions. Those interested can feel free to stop in at any time during this session.
