SUNY Oswego policy requires student operators of the college-owned 12-passenger vans to be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and complete a driver training session. This includes students who have the responsibility of transporting persons in the vans for departmental purposes such as academic field trips, residence life programs, athletic contests and community service.

It is recommended, but not required, that faculty and staff complete the driver training prior to operating a 12-passenger van.

Prior to attending training, participants must bring their valid U.S. driver’s license to 711 Culkin Hall and complete a LENS form at that time (takes less than five minutes). Training includes both classroom and behind-the-wheel driving experience. There is no cost for the training, which only needs to be completed once.

To register for the van driver training, email studentaffairs@oswego.edu with your name and first two choices (see dates and times below) for training. You will receive a confirmation via email. There is a limit of eigh individuals per session. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Van driver training will only be offered during the fall 2018 semester. There will be no training offered in the spring 2019 semester.
