The SHOP (Students Helping Oz Peers) pantry will open for the semester at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 5.

SHOP provides students, faculty and staff with free non-perishable food, toiletries, sexual and reproductive health products, and professional and winter apparel.

Located in the basement of Penfield Library to the right of the elevator, SHOP is a collaborative effort between on- and off-campus partners who recognize the need to address food insecurity within the campus community.

Normal hours of operation this semester will be 1 to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Services are walk-in and confidential.

Opportunities to support SHOP include an outerwear drive in partnership with the SUNY Oswego SEFA (State Employees Federated Appeal) campaign. Organizers of that drive are seeking hats, gloves, coats and scarves, but no shoes or boots, please. Donations are welcome in bins around the campus through Friday, Feb. 9, and will be distributed through SHOP shortly after that.

SHOP opened its pantry in October 2016 as the first student-run food and clothing pantry within the SUNY system.

Visit the SHOP website for more information on how to access their services or support their efforts.
