Dear SUNY Oswego Campus Community,

Our most recent Self-study draft covering the introductory material, and first two MSCHE Standards (I. Mission and Goals, and II. Ethics and Integrity) is now posted for review on our Middle States Self-Study website along with a comment form.  Additional chapters covering MSCHE Standards III – VII will be posted next week in advance of several Open Sessions that will be held via Zoom between September 20 and October 7, 2021.

Please consider attending one or more of the sessions listed below so that you may engage in our campus community’s discussion on these draft chapters and provide your general feedback.  The schedule is also available on our Self-Study website and the SUNY Oswego Events Calendar.

Open Sessions:

Please bear in mind, as you review the posted chapters, that the text is in its penultimate draft, and still contains notes regarding information (institutional activity from fall 2017 – early fall 2021) that will be added later this fall.  The narrative must clearly describe the ways we meet each Standard and all Criteria while referring to specific evidence that will be included in the report’s appendix items, and evidence inventory. Many paragraphs begin with bracketed numbers which correspond to respective Middle States Standards (Roman numerals) and Criteria (Arabic numbers).  Also note that the graphics presented in the chapters are also in draft form. Please carefully review the information being portrayed in the figures but know that the final graphics are currently being developed.

As always, if you have any questions about the Self-Study, please do not hesitate to ask us directly. We hope to see you at one or more of the upcoming open sessions, and we express our sincere thanks to the many colleagues across campus who have contributed to this project.

Best regards,

Rick Back and Kristi Eck
