The student activity center project at SUNY Oswego is well underway and we are currently seeking student input on the name of this new space in the Marano Campus Center.
The new student activity center will be located on the lower level of Swetman Gym. The multi-purpose facility will accommodate both formal and informal gatherings and events such as club meetings, film screenings, small concerts, dance events, award ceremonies, open-mic nights and more. The center will include a large event space, greenrooms for performers, a catering prep area, new restrooms and a new entryway to the building with elevator access to the second floor. The center offers flexibility in its use and can be closed off from the rest of Marano for private, ticketed events, or opened up to support larger events happening in the building or elsewhere in the campus center.

The name will be placed on the exterior canopy (see exterior view above and signage location and scale image below) for a visual perspective. As it reads now, "THE SPACE" has been used as a place holder until an official name is decided. Please note that there is a limit on how many characters the name can be in relation to the size of the signage.
The student activity center is projected to be completed in mid-March. We are looking to solidify a name prior to winter break so that lit-lettering can be ordered and installed in time for the opening.
