The Triandiflou Institute for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Transformative Practice is excited to announce that the Safe Zone Online Training is officially live and accessible to all campus members. This introductory training is designed to foster a more inclusive and supportive environment for Oswego's LGBTQ+ community.
You can find the modules on BrightSpace located under the "no term" section. These initial online units serve as the essential foundation for the university's collective growth and understanding, and the Institute encourages everyone to begin their journey today.
Looking ahead to fall 2027
As the university continues to expand its commitment to inclusivity, The Institute will launch a second, in-person training session in the fall 2027 semester. Please note that completing the online modules is mandatory to attend the in-person workshop. Upon the successful completion of both the online and in-person components, participants will receive a Brave Space plaque to display in their workspace.
The Institute also extends a special thank you to the LGBTQ+ Implementation Team for their dedication to this project, specifically, Jake Marion and Shelly Sloan, whose leadership was instrumental in bringing these efforts to life.
