Dean of Students Office congratulates Darlene Tynan on her retirement

The campus is invited to join the Office of the Dean of Students in congratulating Darlene Tynan on her retirement from SUNY Oswego at the end of this month.

"Over the last 20 years, Tynan has served the campus community with a dedication and kindness that will leave a lasting impact," said Christy Huynh, dean of students for SUNY Oswego.

Her tireless work and outstanding service has led to many promotions since she was first hired on campus as a cleaner for Facilities in March 2006, where she spent six years in Oneida Hall. She transitioned to office assistant in November 2012 for the departments of English and Creative Writing and Communication Studies, and in January 2014 became the office assistant 2 for the MBA Program, and served in this role for six years. She moved into the role of administrative assistant 1 for the School of Business in March 2019 and was promoted in August 2019 to administrative assistant 2 for the Office of the Dean of Students, where she served for nearly six years.

"We deeply appreciate all she has done to create a welcoming and supportive campus for our students, faculty, staff and families," Huynh said.

With respect for Tynan's wishes, in lieu of a gathering, members of the campus community are invited to share their well wishes and gratitude to Tynan directly by email at darlene.tynan@oswego.edu.

Please redirect any business emails you would have sent to Tynan to the deanofstudents@oswego.edu account.
