The college's Office of Communications and Marketing recently completed a reorganization of its key function areas, aimed at expanding beyond a traditional public affairs model, and moving towards an integrated marketing, modernized communications approach. Over the past year, the office has purposely acted on a vision to create a culture of centralized service by formalizing four core function areas that include Digital Services, Marketing, News/Media and Publications.

With this change in structure – seeking to serve clients across campus by building SUNY Oswego brand awareness and  enhancing the way in which we consistently market SUNY Oswego – several staff appointments have been made to position a director at the helm of each core function area.  The directors include:

  • Rick Buck, Director of Digital Services
  • Marybeth DeGroot, Interim Director of Publications
  • Tim Nekritz, Director of News and Media
  • Rose Throop, Interim Director of Marketing

Not only will this office reorganization enable personnel resources to be directed at the creation and implementation of an Integrated Marketing Plan/Strategy for SUNY Oswego, it will allow the 19-person staff (view staff roster) to integrate its efforts across core function areas, thereby improving communication efficiency, maintaining consistency in message and identity, and creating greater opportunity to tell the SUNY Oswego story.

Our team looks forward to working with fellow members of the campus community to create strategic and compelling brand-aligned communications for a range of high-visibility print and digital environments to reach key Oswego audiences on campus, in the region, across New York state and around the world.
