To better protect students, faculty, and staff and improve the information security of the campus community, People Search will only be available to users with a valid LakerNet ID. Currently, People Search is publicly available and is therefore susceptible to common tactics used by bad actors/hackers like screen scraping where a program/bot collects all contact information listed.
This poses a security risk for the college as well as students and employees listed in People Search by making them potential targets of phishing emails and other fraudulent activities. Moving People Search behind a password protected "wall" will reduce these types of information security risks moving forward.
