SUNY Oswego and the Office of Environmental Health and Safety remind the campus about the importance of fire safety, and how it remains a 24/7 focus.

Important things to remember include:
  • The main causes of fires on college campuses are related to smoking, unattended cooking and candle use.
  • Remember to keep hallways and stairwells clear for exiting,
  • All fire alarm systems -- including horns, strobes and detectors -- shall not be tampered with or obstructed, as these are key signaling devices.
Those interested in learning more about fire safety are invited to inquire about being a Fire Safety Guardian by calling 315-312-3159.
