Through the Inclusive Excellence Awards, the Triandiflou Institute is coordinating institutional recognition of outstanding faculty, staff, students, on-campus groups and local residents who have made exceptional efforts and contributions in the areas of equity, inclusion and diversity.
Award categories include:
- Student
- Faculty
- Staff
- Campus club, organization
- Community member
Nominations should include specific, outcome-based examples of the nominee’s diversity, equity and inclusion contributions, written in a brief (500 words max) letter of recommendation. Examples may include programs launched, policies influenced, populations served or documented improvements in access, climate or representation.
Nominees will be evaluated based on demonstrated evidence that they:
- Consistently advance inclusive practices within SUNY Oswego or the surrounding community:
- Demonstrate sustained commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion over time
- Align their efforts with SUNY Oswego’s mission and values
- Exceed formal role expectations to advance inclusive outcomes
- Additional consideration will be given to nominees whose efforts have resulted in documented impact, such as:
- Increasing awareness, knowledge or skills related to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Advancing or improving inclusive policies, practices or institutional processes
- Advocating for historically underserved populations
- Supporting recruitment, retention or success of diverse students, faculty or staff
- Designing, leading, or sustaining diversity, equity, and intercultural programming
Nomination review and timeline:
Nominations will be reviewed by the Triandiflou Advisory Committee and co-chairs of the Pluralism Committee. All nominations must be submitted via this link by Friday, March 13, 2026. Award recipients will be notified via email no later than April 3, 2026.
Celebration details:
The campus community is invited to the Inclusive Excellence Awards celebration on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in Hewitt Hall Ballroom. To attend, please RSVP via this link by Friday, April 3. Hors-d’œuvres will be served.
